PET-CT has boomed over the past decade and consumes much of the clinical time of the average nuclear medicine physician. The history of PET development is briefly tracked (I’m a firm believer that you need to know the history of our modalities and their use). Clinically available radiopharmaceuticals are reviewed, and the use of PET in Oncology is broken down, tumor type by tumor type. The areas of strengths and weaknesses are reviewed for each tumor type. There is heavy emphasis on images, particularly cine images (cine MIPS should be the starting point on every PET-CT interpretation).
